Telling Dan Aykroyd that “Sneakers” is one of my top five movies, and him handing me a bottle of vodka (at 1:20 p.m.), was easily the highlight of this week. The writers have all the fun…
“He was a smaller Fonz. A Fonz for me.” So says my younger sister of our beloved Charles “Chachi” Arcola.
Despite being born a half decade after me, “Happy Days” found a way to speak to my little sis, and close the gap between an audience born in the 70s and an audience born in the 80s. You could say that Chachi served as a footbridge between the generations. And that’s not even counting his influence on the tv kids of the 90s with “Charles In Charge.”
Have any other tv characters been able to garner 3 decades of loyal fans (not including animated characters or talk show hosts)?
